So here it is, my first experience with canning. And as you can see there are only 11 jars there. And guess how long it took me to fill those 11 jars, well a long long time. From about 3 until 8pm. I hope with all of my heart that the lids seal or I will SCREAM!!! And I really hope that they taste better than the canned peaches from Maceys. Crying kids and canning just don't mix. I think this would be something I could really get into when I am a grandma. But you never know, maybe I won't be able to resist the urge to stop at the fruit stands and buy a bushel of beautiful pears...

It looks like you did great, especially for your first time! Maybe next year I can get into it!
I just finished a ton of tomatoes and still have some left! And, yes, you're right--kids and canning don't mix. I always try to do it with my mom or a friend so it goes faster and easier. Just do a little at a time and soon you'll be a pro! PS--If you have any jars that don't seal, just pour the peaches into plastic containers and freeze them!
