Relief Society Birthday Dinner

I am charge of the Relief Society Meetings in my ward with my friend Janelle. We had a dinner to celebrate the 169th birthday of Relief Society. We decided to have a casual night with mostly time to get to know each other better. It turned out really great, thanks to Janelle and an AMAZING committee and so many awesome girls in the ward who were willing to help out. We had a pasta bar with marinara (Katie), spaghetti sauce with meat (Donna), a garlic cream sauce (Janelle) and a pesto (Laura). Then we had breadsticks that Susan got at Costco and she put a garlic spread on them. She was awesome! Running in and out of the kitchen heating them up! Then Stephanie got salad, which went quick! We seriously had so many sisters come to the party!!! I was amazed! I think we had over 80 there. It is so crazy trying to figure out how much food to buy, but I think we did just about right! We hardly had anything left (unlike past years, where I totally misestimated the food!) The most fun part was we had a bunch of ladies make cupcakes. I had to take pictures because they were so pretty! And yum too. I think I gained 5 pounds in one night! It was a fun night, hopefully everyone else had fun too! Heather B. made this AWESOME cake, it seriously tied everything together so well. And it was yummy too! I snuck Jed a piece, since chocolate cake is his favorite! And he was babysitting in the nursery, since he is awesome. :)
Heather also let us use her cute cupcake tower. It turned out perfect!
Krissa's Red Velvet
Krissa's Strawberry Shortcake
Susan's Mint Chocolate
Kirsten O. made these, everyone was fighting over them
Kirsten's Vanilla - I loved these.
Heather K. made these amazing looking beauties. You can tell she has worked in a bakery before!
Kelly's Chocolate Covered Strawberry
Caramel (I made these but it was Kirsten's awesome recipe!)
Heather K. made these, of course! So cute!
Athena got the balloons, and Susan got the matching cupcake wrappers.
Athena got all the cute plates and cups and silverware, and Susan ordered the flowers to put on the napkins, which Athena did all of them!!! What a lot of work!
Different sisters in the ward brought centerpieces for the different months. It turned out really cute! I am sad I didn't get to take pictures of every table. This tree was Marilyn. I love it! I was amazed at all the help people gave, we seriously have the best ward!

Thanks Lisa! I am glad you had fun! The one sad thing about being in charge is I hardly got to talk to all of you! So glad you came :)
