Moab and RAWROD

We made a family voyage to one of our most beloved places on the planet, MOAB Utah. Oh how we love it there, and we want our children to love it too. After this trip, I am absolutely certain that they LOVE Moab too. YAY! We got there Thursday and went to Moab Brewery (I love that place) and then swimming at our hotel. Friday was an ACTION packed day. It was 60 degrees out, so not super warm but still nice. We did the coolest hike to Corona Arch. Jed and I had never done it before, so it was fun to find a new hike. It was adventurous enough to make it exciting for the kids, but short enough that they didn't get burnt out. It was only 3 miles round trip. The arch was BEAUTIFUL!

We had to climb a ladder, the kids thought that was pretty cool

We also had to hold onto some cables to climb up a steep part. Zac got into it! :)

Then we took the kids to eat lunch at the sand dune. Surprisingly this was the kids favorite thing! We were there forever. Jed did a couple flips off that rock. Then we went swimming again then on a bike ride. We found a BMX park, and the kids LOVED that. Then we went to a movie. It was a tiring day for sure!
Saturday Jed took the kids on a hike to Negro Bill Canyon while I did the White Rim Trail, isn't he awesome? I love him so muchThe RAWROD group for 2011 (RAWROD stands for Ride Around White Rim in One Day, I think. :)) It was such a great ride, I really was excited to do a 100 mile bike ride to gauge where I'm at training wise. Even though White Rim is considered pretty mild, it is still a LONG day. I felt really good the entire way. It was so beautiful, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I want to go back and do it a little slower so I can take it all in! I met some really great people. It was fun to bike and just talk to everyone. What a great tradition. Jed is coming with me next year! He has done it before, but we need to do it together for sure. I owe him so bad for all the time I have taken to train this year. He is the BESTHorse thief, yes I had to bike up this at the END of 100 mile bike ride. It was kinda painful! :)
Zac and Chloe are already asking when we can go back to MOAB! Success!!!
