So here is my bike before the makeover Jed just gave it. I have had this bike for 6 years or maybe more, so it is definitely old. It is the Gary Fisher Sugar. I really really need a new bike but that will have to wait, so until then...this is what it looked like before. Horrible tires, and baskets instead of clipless pedals. Yes I am ashamed to say that I raced all last year with BASKETS!!! One guy at 12 hours of Sundance came up to me and said "Were you the one riding with baskets???" I said, YES that was me. And he said "wow that is Hardcore!!!" Well it really isn't, I mean it is just kinda silly.
So this year I am braving the clipless world, which for those of you who don't bike, it means you are clipped into you pedals. Your shoes are literally attached to your bike pedals, which makes for some interesting scary situations that I have been trying to avoid. I have ridden clipless on my road bike which is just no big deal, since you aren't twisting around switchbacks and scary obstacles where you could wreck at any moment and not be able to get out of the pedals in times, which means you fall over feeling completely helpless. But it will be awesome because hopefully it means I will get a lot more upward pull and strength and go a lot lot faster. Get it? Here are the cute pink Crank Brothers Candy Pedals that Jed put on my bike.
AND here are the awesome new racing tires he put on my bike, thanks to Matt Baird. So sometime down the road I will be selling this beauty and getting something way lighter and faster. But until then...THANK JED! Anyways, I am super excited for this years race season!!! Yeah!!! I am planning on joining Mad Dog's race team, which I have just been giddy about. So hopefully it will be a good riding year. I am getting super sick of running in the cold, I am ready to RIDE!

Love the new look of the bike. Jolene has a sugar. You know even though it's old it is one of their better bikes--at least that is what some of the bike shop owners say. Glad you are racing with Mad Dog! It is going to be a fun year. See ya' tomorrow at the meeting.
