This is my cute little family in the pool. I kept saying "We are in Hawaii, we are in Hawaii!" ha ha! Not even close but it was worth dreaming! :)
Hey All.
If you read this hello! :) I have been really bad about keeping up with the blog lately. I've been trying to detach myself from the computer, ha ha. It seems that when you are a stay at home mom and have no adults to talk to you find that your friend is the computer. It connects you to everyone in some small way and makes you feel not so lonely. :) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mom. But I really crave some adult conversation sometime. Talking about Legos and Polly Pockets and coloring doesn't stimulate the brain too much. :) But neither does facebook (although I try to convince myself it does). I decided I need to read more enlightening books, take up some new hobbies and play with the kids more.
SO updating on our lives...I started teaching a Boot Camp class for Lean Bodies Health and Fitness. It has been so much fun! I absolutely love it. This is something I have always wanted to do. I love learning about fitness and nutrition. I started attending Lindsey Mathew's Boot Camp's a couple years ago. I was addicted! They were six weeks of focused nutrition and 2 workouts a week that totally made me work hard. Then Lindsey asked me to demo for her for a few camps, and then I led her Urban Fitness classes. It has been so much fun working with her and learning from her. She knows so much about nutrition and my eyes have been opened to all the possibilities for healthy eating. So now I am in the 4th week of teaching the Provo Boot Camp. It is the first time it has been in this location. I have around 20 people, and they are all so great and have so much energy and dedication. Anyways, if you want to know more about it the website is HERE
This past weekend we headed to St George for Camp Lynda. It was my second year attending. It is basically a 3 day riding binge in February led by Lynda Wallenfels. She is awesome. She is a Pro racer and coach. She is super fun to talk to and I love that she does these camps. It is a welcome trip during the winter months. But it is always a wake up call to the legs. I knew it wouldn't be easy, since I really haven't been riding all winter. I took an ultra long break actually. I have been mostly running and doing boot camp. It has been a much needed break. Last year really wore me out. I was burnt out mentally and physically. So Jed and I did the best we could, but really couldn't keep up with all the diehards. I was telling Jed how it made me discouraged. Mainly because I know what it takes to get faster. And I don't know if I have it in me this year. Leaving my family all the time is really hard. I have a SUPER AMAZING supportive husband. If I told him I wanted to race professionally and dedicate my all to it, he would be right by my side. But I just can't do it all. I guess sometimes that is hard for me to swallow. I left Camp Lynda feeling kinda empty. I am really competitive. I admit it. I guess sometimes that can be a good thing, but right now I just need to focus on having fun with racing bikes. And not get so caught up in the RACING. If that is possible. :) I felt encouraged by Lynda. She asked me what my racing plans are this year. I told her I wanted to focus on being powerful and fast in the shorter races. Cut out endurance. No more endurance for me this year. She told me she thought that was a good idea. And she also said something that made me so happy. She told me she thought I have the potential to get really fast. Even if it isn't this year, I guess it made me have hope that some year I can get "really fast". :) So for this summer, in my heart I really want to just have a solid fun racing year. And I really want Jed to have some great racing time too. (He just has to decide what kind of racing...cross country or enduro style or super D). So we are making plans, goals, etc. I guess we will see what the year holds.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEKEND :)

hey! I don't know how you do it! you seem like wonder woman! you have so many big things going on and are a fun mom to top it off! i can barely manage "not mean mom" where you have the time and energy to do it all! let me know your secret!
I love the kids on Poppy pic! We do that with our boys too and the trail rocks for kids! Think of the boot camp as cross training. I bet it will make you stronger for this year. I'm counting on my MMA training to do the same and so far it seems to be working. Good Luck!
